PENLEE HOUSE GALLERY & MUSEUM ROOF REPAIR WORKS

Penzance Council is sourcing an appropriately qualified contractor to submit a quote for the repair and replacement of elements of the Penlee House Gallery & Museum roof.

Project background:

A roof survey undertaken in 2024 established areas of the roof of Penlee House which were causing water ingress and therefore required repair or replacement. Priority areas of work have been identified, as detailed in the specification document and plans attached to this tender, and it is these works for which Penzance Council seeks a qualified contractor.

In order for Penzance Council to appropriately plan and budget for the subsequent contract, we would require the successful contractor to supply accurate details of:

a) Method statement for all areas of work detailed in specification

b) Detail of products to be used

c) Limits of works

d) Insurance information

e) Cost breakdown as per specification. Please complete 'Price Schedule' spreadsheet, provided with tender notice, with all costs.

f) Evidence of having carried out similar pieces of work.

Returned quotations for the repair and replacement of the required areas of the roof will be assessed on three main criteria in order to appoint the successful contractor to undertake this work:

1) Comprehensive explanation on how the contractor will achieve the requirements set out = 30%

2) Cost = 40%

3) History/Evidence of having carried out similar pieces of work in the past = 30%
