AQNV 068 - Adults Autism Community Engagement Support Service

Shropshire Council requires a provider to deliver Adults Autism Community Engagement Support across Shropshire in accordance with the Specification below, providing access to needs led, community-based support for autistic adults at any stage of diagnosis and promoting early intervention and prevention.

This service offers short‐term, autism‐informed support to help autistic adults, 18+ across Shropshire, understand what support is available locally, and how to access it, helping connect into appropriate services and community resources.

The service focuses on building confidence, informed choices, sharing information and strengthening independence.

Aiming to:

•Improve access to information, advice and support

•Improve access to support services in the community

•Support earlier intervention and prevention

•Improve navigation of complex statutory and community systems

•Align with, and strengthen, the local autism hub offers

•Offer accessible, person-centred support

The role is intended to complement rather than duplicate existing services, acting as a connective function between health, social care, housing, VCSE, and community-based support.
